STAFF ONBOARDING PROCEDURES
Welcome to the team! Please ensure you complete all of the following onboarding tasks. All tasks below are visible upon logging in to Gusto on a desktop or laptop computer. Check off tasks as you go, and let your supervisor know if you have any questions or concerns.
1. "Reply all" to the initial offer email sent by the Skate Like a Girl Director.
2. Accept your official Offer Letter via Gusto.
3. Complete the following forms and send an email to your supervisor once you have completed these forms.
4. Complete your background check via Checkr.
5. Send a picture of your I-9 documents via email when prompted. More information in I-9 documents here.
6. Meet in person with your supervisor to fill out W-4 & I-9 hardcopy paperwork.
7. Get set up on Gusto and Slack.
8. Complete these additional steps.
9. Introduce yourself on Slack on the #org-wide-everyone channel.
10. Attend the following trainings. All trainings are paid time and should be logged on Gusto.
11. Review all policies and procedures on Skate Like a Girl Human Resources Page.
12. Complete Camp Quizzes (only required for camp staff).

- New staff will receive and email from Gusto to accept their official offer letter
- Existing staff changing positions or rehires will not receive anything from Gusto, and instead may be provided other documentation to review and sign
3. Complete the following forms and send an email to your supervisor once you have completed these forms.
- Complete background check authorization form
- Complete Vax Policy Acknowledgment Form
- Complete Annual Forms
4. Complete your background check via Checkr.
- This will come via email and is linked to your Gusto account.
- If you did not receive this notification, let your supervisor know.
5. Send a picture of your I-9 documents via email when prompted. More information in I-9 documents here.
- The most common form is a passport
- If you do not have a passport, you will need to provide 2 documents, such as an SSN card and a Driver's License.
6. Meet in person with your supervisor to fill out W-4 & I-9 hardcopy paperwork.
- Bring required government identification as listed here for your I-9 verification.
7. Get set up on Gusto and Slack.
- Gusto is our payroll provider and what you will use to log your hours, access your W-2, and more.
- You will get an email to complete your profile, hiring paperwork, and payroll.
- Be prepared with your social security number and banking information (routing & checking)
- It is mandatory to change your W-2 settings to digital and not paper.
- Slack is what we use to communicate with each other.
- You will get an email to join our Slack server.
- Set up your profile with your name, pronouns, email, phone number, and a photo.
- If you are completely new to Slack, we recommend watching YouTube tutorial videos such as this one.
8. Complete these additional steps.
- Read through Team Member Handbook
- Complete the website biography form
- Download the Slack, Gusto Wallet, and Google Calendar apps on your phone
9. Introduce yourself on Slack on the #org-wide-everyone channel.
- Please include your name, pronouns, chapter city, job title, and other info about yourself that you want to share
10. Attend the following trainings. All trainings are paid time and should be logged on Gusto.
- Allysk8
- Attend the next Allysk8 training hosted in your local chapter or online.
- If there is no upcoming Allysk8 or you missed the training, please watch the last recorded AllySk8 video, which can be found on the HR site.
- Camp Training (only required for camp staff)
- Attend virtual and/or local in-person training as scheduled by your local Chapter Director
- Skate Facilitation
- Attend the next Skate Facilitation training
- If there is no upcoming Skate Facilitation or you missed the training, please check in with your local Chapter Director
- Heads Up Concussion Training
- Complete the online Heads Up Concussion Training by following the instructions on how to setup and complete this training
- This training will be completed on your own time
- You must Slack your certificate or screenshot of completion page to your local Chapter Director. You do not need to print this.
- CPR/First Aid (only required for Leads)
- If you are currently certified and it is not set to expire within 3 months - upload your valid CPR/First Aid certification via the Annual Forms (step 7). You do not need to print this/provide a hardcopy.
- If you are NOT currently certified - please communicate to your supervisor to get signed up for a class.
11. Review all policies and procedures on Skate Like a Girl Human Resources Page.
12. Complete Camp Quizzes (only required for camp staff).
