Help Skate Like a Girl Recover from a Bus CrashOn January 24th, tragedy struck our beloved Skate Like a Girl indoor skate park in Seattle, WA. A King County Metro bus collided with our space during our cherished Wednesday evening student skate session. Miraculously, all 30 children and young adults inside escaped unharmed, including the 25 passengers onboard, but our facility suffered extensive damage, rendering it unusable for the foreseeable future.
We've set an ambitious goal of $40,000 to cover staff hours, expenses for relocating equipment and ramps, site improvements, and more. This fund will expedite our return to fulfilling our mission of creating a more inclusive community through skateboarding. Now, as we face the challenge of rebuilding, we invite you to be a crucial part of our comeback story. Help Skate Like a Girl rise from the ashes, stronger and more accessible than ever. Your support will not only restore a skate park; it will revive a community and empower us to continue our mission. Join us on this journey, and let's roll toward a brighter, more inclusive future together. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in our 24 years as an organization, it’s that our community has our back. Thank you all! |
