ACCOMODATION RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please note that we will not be supporting skaters with finding free homestays this year due to Covid & capacity limitations.

  • American Hotel Hostel – Located in the heart of the International District
    • http://www.americanhotelseattle.com/
    • 520 South King Street, Seattle, WA, 98104
  • Hotel Hotel hostel - Located in the heart of Fremont
    • https://hotelhotel.co/
    • 3515 Fremont Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103

  • Airbnb/VRBO – Many of our athletes and visitors have used Airbnb or VRBO to find affordable accommodations in the area
    • www.airbnb.com

  • The Loyal Inn Seattle – This hotel is in the heart of downtown and is moderately priced. It is close to local bus lines that can easily get you to the event
    • Visit www.loyalinn.com for more info and booking

  • Other Local Hotels – A quick Google search for hotels near the event will pull up many affordable locations. We recommend staying away from motels off of Aurora/Highway 99 as it is not the safest area.
TRANSPORTATION TIPS:

  • Fly into SeaTac Airport (SEA)
  • Transportation Tips:
  • Use Light Rail to get to/from SeaTac Airport – Skate Like a Girl will not be providing official airport transportation or shuttles. Due to traffic in the city, we highly recommend taking the light rail to/from the airport, which has stops downtown (West Lake station), Capitol Hill, and the University District (closest stop to All Together Skate Park), among other stops (see image). To get from SeaTac to the University of Washington stop it costs a few dollars and will take you around an hour.

  • Public transportation - We have a good number of light rail and bus lines that travel from the Downtown area to the event neighborhood of Fremont. For easy trip planning, download Google Maps and One Bus Away to get you around town on the bus system. The combination of these two apps will get you anywhere in Seattle on public transit:

  • Google Maps App – Type in where you want to go and select thedeparture/arrival time. You have the option to choose public transportation. This will tell you when and where you should catch the bus/light rail.
  • OneBusAway App - This app allows you to look at the stop you need and tells you when your bus will be arriving as well as show you all the bus routes. It also tells you if your bus will be later than scheduled.
  • Lyft or Uber Apps – If you are uncomfortable using public transit, we highly recommend these car service apps for getting around town affordably. Download the app to get started!
  • Lime or Jump Bike Apps – For getting around the Fremont area, we recommend the use of the various bike & scooter share companies. These are great for short trips in lieu of a car. You can find the bikes lying around on nearly every corner. Download the app to get started!

ABOUT THE CONTEST (SUNDAY)

  • On Sunday, the final day of WOF weekend, we will be hosting a traditional skateboard competition at All Together Skatepark for girls, women and/or trans, non-binary, or gender expansive skaters to compete for prizes and cash! Divisions will be based on age, including 12 & under, 13-17, 18-100, and OPEN (Am/Pro).

  • Click here to watch our virtual info session to learn more about format and judging criteria.

  • After the competition, we will be hosting the “Expression Session” where skaters will have the chance to skate, goof around, and entertain the crowd with their wildness! This non-competitive event has nothing to do with your skate skill and everything to do with having an epic time! Some may choose to karaoke a song, while others might display a synchronized skate routine. Anything goes! At the end, the crowd will pick their favorite, and judges will give out unique awards to those embodying the essence of WOF weekend.
