3RD ANNUAL SKATE ANGEL!
Skate Like a Girl’s 3rd annual Skate Angel campaign is back with a goal of getting over 100 kids a brand new skateboard and helmet this holiday season!
What is Skate Angel?
Skate Angel was started in Phoenix, Arizona by Cowtown Skate Shop. They collected monetary donations from customers during the holiday season to cover the cost of skateboards, and worked with local non-profits to distribute free skateboards to low-income young people in their area. Inspired by this effort in the southwest, Skate Like a Girl has worked with amazing local shops like 35th, Stronger, Atlas, 510, and others, to make it happen on the West Coast. Skate Like a Girl’s 2021 org-wide goal this year is to get a new skateboard and helmet to at least 110 individuals. How can you help Skate Like a Girl achieve this goal? Ways to support: There are a variety of ways folks can support the Skate Angel campaign, including spreading the word within your networks, making a donation at a participating skate shop either online or in person, volunteering to help construct skateboards locally, and/or delivering boards to recipients! Please note that local needs will vary; inquire with local contacts to learn more about how you can help. Thanks to our amazing partners such as Triple8 and our local skate shops, a gift of just $75 will allow Skate Like a Girl to give a brand new helmet and skateboard to a skater in need. |
